I currently have a mini monster on auction at eBay. His name is "Maurice". He was inspired by my favorite childhood book, "Where the Wild Things Are." It was so reassuring to think that no matter what blunders I'd gotten myself into, real or imagined, there might still be a warm dinner waiting for me when the adventure was over.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160270055764

My favorite doe, Parsley, is due to kindle today! Kindle is when a rabbit gives birth to kits, babies. I so hope that all goes well. She tends to kindle late, so no worries yet. This morning, I carefully picked her up, and laid her on her back across my lap. She's a sweetheart. Just lays there, looking at me with those trusting soft red eyes.

She's a pure German Angora. Paid full price for her, and was glad too! I'd researched rabbit breeders as carefully I could, and was lucky to find one within driving distance. Part of what I was looking for was not so much showmanship, or prize winning rabbits, but solid blood lines, with a proven history of producing the most quality spinning fiber per rabbit. I'd meant to join IAGARB, the International Association of German Angora Rabbit breeders.

http://www.iagarb.com/

It looks like great fun, good information, and Parsley may even qualify to be registered. Though, I don't think I'll ever be listed as a breeder. I only breed just often enough to fill my bunny room, and supply my creation obsession. I just couldn't sell my babies!

As the thoughts of my scattered brain return to the bunny at hand, I look at her again. Pet her nose, then check her burgeoning belly. I still haven't really learned to palpate, check for babies, but she's way past that now. Curious, I try anyway, carefully. Oooh! A tiny kick on the right! Wow! That's NEVER happened before! Mmm, could I get a little kick on the left? Moving my hand over, nope, nothing. Oh well, it's rare for me to share this with my bunny mommas anyway... Ah! Really? Another kick? Yes!

More to come!

Sharon Warren
GSOLFOT, Thread Artist Guild, IGMA, CDHM
http://www.rabbitsandribbons.com/
http://stores.ebay.com/rabbitsandribbons
